Abstract: The social service was carried out at the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases Dr. Ismael Cosío Villegas (INER), in the period from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024. The head of the Maxillofacial Surgery and Stomatology Service is Dr. Carlos Alberto Carrasco Rueda. The Maxillofacial Surgery and Stomatology Service of the INER serves patients with various pathologies, providing them with comprehensive care, since it offers various specialties that include Pediatric Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery, Comprehensive I and II, Orthodontics and Endodontics. During my internship, I was assigned to the Comprehensive Area I in charge of Dr. Daniel Vladimir Nieto Olvera, where I carried out various clinical and administrative activities that included the preparation of clinical histories, periodontograms, area manuals, protocols, dental prophylaxis, ultrasound curettage, extractions, surgery, occlusal guard and interconsultations to wards requested by other services of the hospital. During this period, various activities were also carried out that strengthened learning and knowledge on topics of stomatological importance through presentations, workshops given by the areas associates, guests with impactful topics, and even the opportunity to attend courses and external conferences of the institution. The purpose of this work is to present a bibliographic review regarding the association of sleep bruxism (SB) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), due to the high prevalence of both types of conditions, thus helping us to make better decisions in the management of these patients. The social service was carried out at the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases Dr. Ismael Cosío Villegas (INER), in the period from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024.
