Abstract: | The folkloric dance is perceived like a traditional Mexican representation of national identity, it was originally stablished by the orthodox guidelines that determine heterosexual/straight roles represented by the traditional couple (man-woman), and this is also incorporated in the traditional dance costume, accessories and cultural traits perceived as static and unchangeable on their execution. However, there had been proposals emerging inside of this sub-camp that make visible different gender and sexual identities, as well as ones who take part on the LGBTTTIQ+ community. This research is based on the perspective of the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, and his theory of camps, it shows an approach to subcamp of folk dance, that, in the beginning, started like a performing/scenic art until the emerging of new proposals inside of this subcamp. An example of this is the Ballet Folklórico LGBTTTI “Jalisco es Diverso”, which this research studies and makes a qualitative analysis, that is displayed in the chapters along this investigation, where we also explain the activist representation that this Ballet has with the LGBTTTIQ+ community through folkloric dance and their purpose of inclusion against stereotypes and discrimination. |
