Reporte de Servicio Social: Enfermería y Salud Comunitaria; Propuesta Basada en el Análisis de Intervenciones

Abstract

This report documents the social service experience in the area of community nursing, carried out in collaboration with the civil organization Salud y Desarrollo Comunitario A.C. (SADEC), as part of the Human Development in Chiapas project, in autonomous Indigenous Zapatista communities located in the municipalities of Chilón and Ocosingo. The work was developed between August 2023 and August 2024, in the localities of San Jerónimo Tulijá, Arroyo Granizo, La Garrucha, and Las Tazas. During the stay, activities were focused on comprehensive health care with an intercultural approach, including direct care in autonomous clinics, home visits, health education, and coordination with local actors such as health promoters, traditional midwives, dental interns, and physicians. Participation also included the implementation of priority health programs such as prenatal care, chronic disease management (diabetes and hypertension), child growth and development, and promotion of healthy habits, through the development of educational materials, record formats, and patient control booklets. The community diagnosis was structured at three levels: national, state, and local, considering physiographic, socioeconomic, demographic, and cultural factors that influence the health of the population. From this analysis, key needs were identified, such as the lack of patient follow-up, language barriers, excessive consumption of sugary drinks, and the limited integration of nursing within the autonomous health system. This experience revealed the value of nursing interventions grounded in cultural respect, a family-centered approach, and community-based work. A nursing intervention model was also proposed to strengthen the local health system by integrating sustainable activities, clinical records, and community participation. The social service was not only a professional practice, but also a deep personal transformation that involved cultural adaptation, collaborative work, mutual learning, and the creation of human connections. This report aims to contribute to the continuous improvement of community health and serve as a useful guide for future generations of nurses interested in community-based work with a social, ethical, and humanistic focus.

Este reporte documenta la experiencia de servicio social en el área de enfermería comunitaria, en colaboración con la organización civil Salud y Desarrollo Comunitario A.C. (SADEC), dentro del proyecto Desarrollo Humano en Chiapas, en comunidades indígenas autónomas zapatistas de los municipios de Chilón y Ocosingo. El trabajo se desarrolló entre agosto de 2023 y agosto de 2024, en las localidades de San Jerónimo Tulijá, Arroyo Granizo, La Garrucha y Las Tazas. Durante la estancia, se realizaron actividades centradas en el cuidado integral de la salud con enfoque intercultural, mediante la atención directa en clínicas autónomas, visitas domiciliarias, educación para la salud y coordinación con actores locales como promotores, parteras, pasantes de estomatología y médicos. Se participó en la implementación de programas prioritarios de salud como atención prenatal, enfermedades crónicas (diabetes e hipertensión), crecimiento y desarrollo infantil, y promoción de hábitos saludables, elaborando materiales educativos, formatos de registro y cartillas de control. El diagnóstico comunitario se estructuró a tres niveles: nacional, estatal y local, considerando factores fisiográficos, socioeconómicos, demográficos y culturales que inciden en la salud de la población. A partir de este análisis, se identificaron necesidades clave como la falta de seguimiento a pacientes, las barreras lingüísticas, el consumo excesivo de bebidas azucaradas, y la débil inclusión de enfermería en el sistema autónomo de salud. La experiencia permitió observar el valor de la intervención de enfermería basada en el respeto cultural, el enfoque familiar y el trabajo comunitario. Asimismo, se propuso un modelo de intervención enfermera para fortalecer el sistema de salud local, integrando actividades sostenibles, registros clínicos y participación comunitaria. El servicio social no solo fue una práctica profesional, sino también un proceso de transformación personal que implicó adaptación cultural, trabajo colaborativo, aprendizaje mutuo y construcción de vínculos humanos. Este informe busca contribuir a la mejora continua de la salud comunitaria y ofrecer una guía útil para futuras generaciones de enfermeras interesadas en el trabajo comunitario con enfoque social, ético y humano.
