Diversidad Funcional de Reptiles en la Sierra Madre del Sur

Abstract

A lo largo de su historia evolutiva cada especie desarrolla diferentes características físicas y fisiológicas como estrategia para sobrevivir en su ambiente, estas estrategias varían dependiendo de distintos factores dentro del ecosistema, y pueden estar relacionadas con el hábitat, vegetación, sus hábitos, incluso el tamaño, a estos rasgos se les llama rasgos funcionales. Con el estudio de cada uno de estos rasgos se puede conocer acerca de la historia natural de los animales, por lo tanto, es de gran importancia estudiarlos. Se compiló información de diversas fuentes tanto electrónicas como bibliográficas (Naturalista, Reptiledatabase, Acta Zoológica Mexicana, IUCN, entre otras.) Con el fin de realizar una base de datos reuniendo 5 de los rasgos funcionales de 258 especies de reptiles de la Sierra Madre del Sur y así tener mayor conocimiento de ellos y dar pauta a futuras investigaciones que busquen implementar estrategias para su conservación dentro de su ecosistema. Con las referencias utilizadas para la base de datos se observó que los rasgos con mayor presencia en otras investigaciones son para longitud y peso, los rasgos como patrón de actividad, vegetación y hábito se encuentran con menor frecuencia, por lo que requiere de búsquedas más exhaustivas para la obtención de estos datos.

Throughout its evolutionary history each species develops different characteristics as a strategy to survive in its environment, these strategies vary depending on different factors within the ecosystem, and can be related to habitat, vegetation, habits, even size, these tralts are called functionaltraits. With the study of each of these traits it is possible to know about the natural history of animals, therefore, it is of great importance to study them. lnformation was compiled from various electronic and bibliographic sources (Naturalista, Reptiledatabase, Acta Zoologica Nilexicana, IUCN, among others). ln order to create a database gathering 5 of the functional traits of 258 species of reptiles from the Sierra lVadre del Sur and thus have greater knowledge of them and give guidelines to future research that seeks to implement strategies for their conservation. With the references used for the database, it was observed that the traits with the greatest presence in other studies are for length and weight, traits such as activity pattern, vegetation and habit are found less frequently, so it requires more exhaustive searches to obtain these data.
