Estomatitis Aftosa Recidivante: Reporte de un Caso

Abstract

This document corresponds to the final report of the Social Service of the degree in Stomatology, which took place at the TIII Dr. Manuel health center Martínez Báez located at Av. El Rosario 34, San Martin Xochinahuac, Azcapotzalco, 02210 Mexico City, CDMX, during the period of February 1 from 2023 to January 31, 2024. The social service report sets out the research topic carried out, as well as the different activities that were carried out during social service. The research carried out addresses Recurrent aphthous stomatitis: report of a case Recurrent or also known as recurrent aphthous stomatitis is considered one of the most common lesions in the oral mucosa, being a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by the appearance of lesions elemental ulcerative diseases in which there is a loss of substance that affects both the epithelium and the underlying connective tissue. Recurrent aphthous stomatitis is an alteration of the oral mucosa associated with some cases to depression of the immune system, these oral ulcers They represent a common pathological process of the oral cavity. In general, They present with pain as the main characteristic. There are different ways of classify them, minor form, major form and herpetic. The objective of this research is to raise awareness of recurrent aphthous stomatitis from his background, also reporting a clinical case of a patient of the same sex female of adult age, in the same way explain their dental management. Today there are different treatments to reduce the presence of these mouth injuries, all with different percentages of effectiveness, but at a level dentistry, the most used treatment is referenced, all this with a study retrospective literature review. On the other hand, this report mentions the activities carried out in the social service, in all phases with in-person activities.

El presente documento corresponde al informe de término del Servicio Social de la licenciatura en Estomatología, el cual tuvo lugar en centro de salud TIII Dr. Manuel Martínez Báez ubicado en Av. El Rosario 34, San Martin Xochinahuac, Azcapotzalco, 02210 Ciudad de México, CDMX, durante el periodo de 1 de febrero de 2023 al 31 enero de 2024. El informe de servicio social expone el tema de investigación realizado, así como las distintas actividades que fueron desempeñadas durante el servicio social. La investigación realizada aborda ¨Estomatitis aftosa recidivante: reporte de un caso¨ La estomatitis aftosa recidivante o también conocida como recurrentes es considerada como una de las lesiones más comunes en la mucosa oral, siendo una enfermedad inflamatoria crónica caracterizada por la aparición de lesiones ulcerativas elementales en la que hay una pérdida de sustancia que afecta tanto al epitelio como al tejido conectivo subyacente. La estomatitis aftosa recidivante es una alteración de la mucosa oral asociada en algunos casos a la depresión del sistema inmunológico, estas úlceras orales representan un proceso patológico frecuente de la cavidad bucal. En general, cursan con dolor como principal característica. Hay diferentes formas de clasificarlas, forma menor, forma mayor y herpéticas. El objetivo de esta investigación es dar a conocer la estomatitis aftosa recidivante desde sus antecedentes así mismo reportando un caso clínico de paciente del sexo femenino de edad adulta, de igual forma explicar su manejo odontológico. existen hoy en día diferentes tratamientos para disminuir la presencia de estas lesiones en boca, todas con diferentes porcentajes de efectividad, pero a nivel odontológico se referencian el tratamiento más utilizado, todo esto con un estudio descriptivo y de revisión bibliográfica. Por otra parte, en este informe se mencionan las actividades realizadas en el servicio social con actividades de manera presencial.
