Abstract: | From the second half of the twentieth century, there was a crisis in the field of Mental Health that led to a profound transformation around the world, and led to think differently the way people see and treat madness. In this article we insist on the importance of recovering a look where social and subjective condition of mental illnesses cannot be left of side –such as it has happened from the psychiatric-hegemonic approach, while actions at and with the community must be implemented for a better attention. So we insist on directing interventions, from the participation of broad sectors of society, towards addressing the needs and rights of people, rather than the treatment of a so-called “mental illness”. |
