Aproximación al bienestar de inmigrantes de África Occidental en comarcas rurales catalanas

Abstract

This study focuses on the main elements that determine the well-being of West African men settled in three municipalities in rural Catalan counties. It considers the theories of subjective and psychological well-being and a framework of analysis that highlights the positive contribution of immigration to the development of rural territories and places the well-being of their inhabitants as the ultimate goal. Based on semi-structured interviews, it describes the perception of Africans and native people in order to understand how the conditions that determine well-being and the role of immigration in the environments studied are constructed.

Este estudio se centra en los principales elementos que determinan el bienestar de varones que proceden de África Occidental asentados en tres municipios de comarcas rurales catalanas. Considera las teorías del bienestar subjetivo y psicológico y un marco de análisis que destaca la contribución positiva de la inmigración al desarrollo de los territorios rurales y que sitúa el bienestar de sus habitantes como objetivo final. A partir de entrevistas semiestructuradas describe las percepciones de africanos y personas nativas para comprender cómo se construyen las condiciones que determinan el bienestar y el rol de la inmigración en los entornos estudiados.
