Cambio comunicativo para una nueva sociedad mexicana

Abstract

At the dawn of the 21st century the mass media have become the center of contemporary power in our country. Because of this, it is in the everyday virtual spaces of the symbolic relations that the media’s communications system permanently produces between transmitters and communities that the Mexican state and society are constructed or destroyed on a daily basis. Although the mass media have now become the first estate, in the past their operations were largely neglected by the Mexican state and civil society. Therefore, as a part of the process of peaceful change, a new collective project of citizen communication for democratizing the nation must be created.

A principios del siglo XXI los medios de información colectivos se han convertido en el centro del poder contemporáneo de nuestra nación. Por ello, en los espacios virtuales cotidianos de las relaciones simbólicas que permanentemente produce el sistema mediático de comunicación entre emisores y colectividades es donde diariamente se construye o destruye al Estado y a la sociedad mexicana. Sin embargo, aunque los medios de información se han convertido en el primer poder, históricamente su operación ha sido muy descuidada por el Estado mexicano y por la sociedad civil. Por esta razón, en el proceso de cambio pacífico es necesario crear un nuevo proyecto colectivo de comunicación ciudadano que permita democratizar a la nación.
