La pandemia en San Gregorio Atlapulco. Causas preexistentes e iniciativas locales

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio de la pandemia detonada por el coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 en San Gregorio Atlapulco (SGA), pueblo originario rururbano localizado al sur de la Ciudad de México. Los objetivos son identificar y analizar las características socioeconómicas y culturales preexistentes que contribuyeron a que este pueblo formara parte de la lista de las colonias de la Zona Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México con mayor cantidad de contagios durante varios meses; así como las respuestas locales a las condiciones impuestas por la situación de cuarentena en la pandemia. La investigación es cualitativa y se obtuvo información empírica a partir de la revisión hemerográfica de inicios de la pandemia hasta el momento actual, y por medio de entrevistas virtuales a actores locales originarios de SGA, realizadas en octubre y noviembre de 2020.

A study of the pandemic detonated by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in San Gregorio Atlapulco, an original and semi-rural town located South of Mexico City is presented. The objectives are to identify and analyze the pre-existing socio-economic and cultural characteristics that have contributed and placed this town as part of the list of the neighborhoods of the Metropolitan Area of Mexico City with the highest number of infections for several months; as well as local responses to the conditions imposed by the quarantine situation due to the pandemic. The research is qualitative and empirical information has been collected through the hemerographic review since the beginning of the pandemic up to the present moment and through virtual interviews with local actors natives from SGA, carried out in October and November 2020.
