Actitud y conducta: Los electores del Distrito Federal en 1997

Abstract

This paper describes the beliefs of the Federal District’s electors regarding the legitimacy and popularity of the system, the office of the president, and the PRI in the years between 1995 and 1997, and it examines the effects of these and other instrumental and strategic attitudes on electoral behavior. Using the heuristics of methodological individualism it addresses the relationship between attitudes and actions, and between attitudes and attitudes in accordance with their sources of motivation. In the technical sphere it uses aggregated and individual data, which are examined by means of simple correlations and binary logistic regressions.

En este artículo se describen las creencias de los electores del Distrito Federal en torno a la legitimidad y la popularidad del sistema, la presidencia y el PRI entre 1995 y 1997, y se examinan los efectos de estas y otras actitudes de corte instrumental y estratégico sobre el comportamiento electoral. Con la heurística del individualismo metodológico se aborda la relación entre actitudes y acciones, y entre actitudes y actitudes conforme a sus fuentes motivacionales. En el terreno técnico se utilizan datos agregados e individuales, que se examinan mediante correlaciones simples y regresiones logísticas binarias.
