Chiapas: Los cambios en la tenencia de la tierra

Abstract

En este artículo se analiza la lucha por la tierra y la estructura agraria en Chiapas con énfasis en los cambios impuestos por el neoliberalismo y la globalización. En particular, se estudia el impacto del Plan Puebla-Panamá en la estructura de la propiedad agraria. Se advierte que dicho proyecto puede significar un alto riesgo tanto para la reproducción social campesina como para la biodiversidad de la región.

Dans cet article, l’analyse de la lutte pour la terre et de la structure agraire au Chiapas se centre sur les changements imposés par le néolibéralisme et la mondialisation. En particulier, il analyse l’impact du plan Puebla Panama sur la structure de la propriété foncière. Il montre comment le projet en question peut représenter un risque majeur à la fois pour la reproduction sociale paysanne et pour la biodiversité de la région.

This article analyzes the struggle for land and the agrarian structure in Chiapas, with emphasis on the changes that neoliberalism and globalization have imposed on that state. Specifically, it analyzes the impact of the Puebla-Panama Plan in the structure of the agrarian property, noticing that more than an alternative, such project may mean a major risk for both its peasant social reproduction and the biodiversity of the region.
