Mujeres en Organizaciones de Mayores: nuevos liderazgos y procesos de subjetivación femenina

Abstract

El proceso de envejecimiento demográfico es global y está caracterizado por la feminización de la vejez. Esto conduce a pensar el género y la edad como parte de procesos sociales que operan generando desigualdades que afectan en mayor medida a las mujeres que a los hombres. Este artículo tiene como objetivo resaltar el valor positivo de los Centros de Jubilados argentinos y describir los cambios en las relaciones de género que se están gestando en los mismos. Los hallazgos evidencian que se registra un mayor protagonismo de las mujeres en los cargos jerárquicos, lo cual cuestiona el rasgo masculino de este tipo de instituciones. Este estudio plantea la importancia de promover el fortalecimiento de estas organizaciones como lugares de pertenencia e inclusión social, además de incorporar la perspectiva de género en las instituciones donde transitan las mujeres mayores para que puedan asumir liderazgos y promover procesos de subjetivación femenina.

The demographic aging process is global and is characterized by the feminization of old age. This leads us to think of gender and age as part of social processes that operate  ualities and these affect women more than men. This paper aims to highlight the positive value of Argentine Retirement Centers and describe the changes in gender relations that are taking place in them. The findings show that there is a greater role for women in hierarchical positions, which questions the masculine trait of this type of institution. This study raises the importance of promoting the strengthening of these organizations as places of belonging and social inclusion, as well as incorporating the gender perspective in the institutions where older women transit so that they can act as leaders and promote processes of female subjectivation.
