Videos educativos en ciencias marinas dentro del proyecto Laboratorio Marino virtual

Abstract

In response to the health emergency that arose as a result of COVID-19, society had to adapt and modify the way in which we communicate, as well as change the traditional way of learning, hence the Virtual Marine Laboratory project, led by of Dr. Omar Valencia Méndez, in which his objective is to be able to disseminate science and transmit knowledge in marine sciences to boys and girls from 7 to 14 years of age, as well as to be able to minimize the gender inequality that currently exists, since that the project highlights the large number of women scientists that exist in the world, in order to meet these objectives, different recreational conferences were held with the support of women scientists who have made great contributions to science, as well as scientific publications through different social networks, in order to extend the scope of this cause, 18 educational videos were translated into different native languages with the purpose that everyone with internet access can acquire new knowledge, regardless of whether they speak Spanish or not, with this it was possible to reach 58,743 people during the months of February to August 2022.

Como respuesta a la emergencia sanitaria surgida a consecuencia del COVID-19, la sociedad tuvo que adaptarse y modificar la manera en la que nos comunicamos, así como cambiar la forma de aprendizaje tradicional, de ahí surge el proyecto de Laboratorio Marino virtual, a cargo del Dr. Omar Valencia Méndez, en el que su objetivo es poder hacer divulgación científica y transmitir el conocimiento en las ciencias del mar a los niños y niñas de 7 a 14 años, así como poder minimizar la desigualdad de género que hay actualmente, ya que el proyecto destaca la gran cantidad de mujeres científicas que existen en el mundo, para poder cumplir con estos objetivos se realizaron diferentes conferencias lúdicas con apoyo de científicas que han realizado grandes aportaciones a la ciencia, así como publicaciones de divulgación científica a través de diferentes redes sociales, para poder extender el alcance de esta causa se realizó la traducción de 18 videos educativos a diferentes lenguas originarias con la finalidad de que toda persona con acceso a internet pueda adquirir nuevos conocimientos, sin importar si hable español o no, con ello se pudo tener un alcance de 58,743 personas durante los meses de febrero a agosto del 2022.
