Historia y gestación de imágenes antijudías

Abstract

El siguiente artículo intenta mostrar cómo en el imaginario individual y colectivo es posible fijar imágenes recurrentes que a través de los siglos permanecen sin importar los cambios de contextos históricos. Un caso específico lo encontramos en el antijudaísmo desarrollado sobre todo por la religión hija (catolicismo) contra la religión madre (judaísmo). A pesar de la aparición de diferentes sistemas sociales, económicos, políticos y culturales, encontramos en ellos la sobrevivencia de la figura del judío cubierta de oprobios y como una amenaza “contra los otros”. Un “los otros” dispuesto a explotar y verter su odio acumulado, añejado, cultivado pacientemente, sobre el chivo expiatorio ferozmente escarnecido mediante múltiples formas, y que la memoria histórica no debe olvidar por el riesgo de repetir una y otra vez los mismos horrores.

The history and gestation of anti-Semitic images. The following article tries to show how, in individual and collective imaginaries, it is possible to fix recurrent images which persist throughout centuries independently of changes in the historical context. We examine a specific case in the anti-Semitism developed mainly by the daughter religion (Roman Catholicism) against the mother religion (Judaism). In spite of the appearance of different social, economic, political and cultural systems, we encountered the survival of the figure of the Jew covered with opprobrium and perceived as a threat “to others”. These “others” are ready to explode and to pour out their accumulated hatred, matured and patiently cultivated, on a scapegoat which is ferociously mocked by means of multiple forms and which historical memory should not forget because of the risk of once again repeating the same horrors.
