dc.description.abstract | The goal of this paper ¡s to examine the structural traits which make the "talk show" or "reality show" a television super genre aimed at fulfilling broad socio-communicative functions. These traits synthesize the television tendencies which validate the "visible" through multiple presentation and representation strategies. The analysis of a corpus constituted by a broad and varied range of Mexican television programmers, lead to the formulation of four hypotheses. These guide the analysis of the discourse mechanisms which constitute the following basic functions: 1. the determination of what "deserves to be seen"; 2. the construction of every day life; 3. the definition or direct, immediate and "understandable" Communications with their corresponding hierarchy, and 4. the intersection of strategies to "make truth believable". | en-US |
