Abstract

This article looks at some historical moments where you can observe how the image has complete control over the bodies. The age of Augustus in ancient Rome and the history of Christianity shows how it is possible to weave a network of social control using the images. It also seeks to highlight the fetishism that people can develop with respect to an image, a painting or a simple object. Features that come to today.

Este artículo estudia algunos momentos históricos en los que es posible mirar la manera en que la imagen ejerce un control sobre los cuerpos. La época de Augusto en la Antigua Roma y la historia del cristianismo demuestran cómo es posible tejer una red de control social empleando las imágenes. Asimismo, intenta poner de relieve el fetichismo que los seres humanos podemos desarrollar respecto de una imagen, una pintura o un simple objeto, situación que llega hasta nuestros días.
