Estéticas y políticas transexuales y transgénero en las ciudades de México y Buenos Aires

Abstract

This study deals with the interconnection, having transsexuality and transgenderism has the unit of analysis, between the aesthetics and the political and gender systems in two Latin-American capitals. It establishes the importance of the aesthetics of the body from an imaginary and imaginable perspective, its autonomous and heteronomous, conscious and unconscious settings and strategies, as depicted in both favourable and antagonistic theories of the social formations. The artistic work is viewed as one of the manifestations of the aesthetics in the discursive field of power relations and legitimacy of sexual diversity. The phenomenon is framed as part of the conditions of the contemporary worlds and our conception the much debated human models perspectives.

El trabajo se interesa en la interconexión, teniendo como unidad de análisis la transexualidad y el transgenerismo, entre la estética y los sistemas políticos y de género en dos capitales latinoamericanas. Se postula la importancia de lo estético para lo imaginario y lo imaginable de los cuerpos, sus escenificaciones y estrategias, a un tiempo autónomas y heterónomas, conscientes e inconscientes, en las concepciones solidarias y antagónicas de las formaciones sociales. Lo artístico se comprende como una de las posibilidades de lo estético en el proceso discursivo de las relaciones de poder y legitimidad de la diversidad sexual. Se enmarca el fenómeno dentro de las condiciones de los mundos contemporáneos y nuestra concepción de las modelizaciones de lo humano en disputa.
