Violencias intangibles en la experiencia migracional caribeña

Abstract

This paper we aim to analyze the different forms of intangible violence that are carried along with the human migration process. Thus, we focus our study on the displacement movements of Hispanic-Caribbean subjects to the United States during the second half of the twentieth century through a corpus of testimonial literature that belongs to three authors, one for each of the three Caribbean islands (Puerto Rico, Cuba and Dominican Republic). This way, the analysis of the exodus that is narrated in the literature of migration and exile may show the different forms of violence carried out on migrant bodies such as social exclusion, submission and hypersexualization.

En este artículo nos proponemos analizar las diversas formas de violencia intangible que son acarreadas por el proceso migratorio humano y practicadas desde el colectivo receptor hegemónico sobre el migrante alterno. Para ello focalizamos nuestro estudio en los desplazamientos de los sujetos hispano-caribeños hacia Estados Unidos, acaecidos durante la segunda mitad del siglo xx mediante un corpus de literatura migracional con valor de testimonio, perteneciente a tres autores desplazados, uno por cada una de las tres islas (Puerto Rico, Cuba y República Dominicana). De esta forma, el análisis de dichos éxodos narrados en la literatura de migración y exilio desde la voz individual mostrará las distintas formas de violencias discriminatorias ejecutadas sobre los cuerpos migrantes y manifestadas de forma intangible mediante la exclusión social, el sometimiento y la hipersexualización.
