El cuerpo en imágenes: (D)efectos de las nuevas tecnologías y redes sociales en el sujeto moderno

Abstract

This paper will explain, according to the freudian and lacanian theories, some of the effects the human body faces nowadays due to the daily use of new technologies, such as social media and smartphones linking them to the way subjects bound through signifiers and images from themselves and from the Other. First, the conception of body in psychoanalysis will be addressed using Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan theories, in order to underline the ways in which modern subjects bound symbolic elements offered from the society and the Other. Lastly, the imaginary register, mirror model and narcissism concepts will be highlighted to address the shortcomings that could be observed in the constitution of the self.

El presente trabajo plantea, a partir de la teoría freudiana y lacaniana, algunos efectos que ha tenido el cuerpo en relación con el uso actual de las nuevas tecnologías, así como en la forma en que el sujeto se constituye y se vincula a través de la palabra y la imagen de sí mismo y del Otro. Para este propósito, se abordará el cuerpo desde el psicoanálisis, retomando a especialistas como Sigmund Freud y Jacques Lacan, para posteriormente plantear las nuevas formas en que el sujeto moderno se vincula, a partir de los elementos simbólicos que la sociedad y el Otro ofrecen, o no, al sujeto. Por último, se hará énfasis en la implicación del registro imaginario, el estadio del espejo y el narcisismo en dichas formas de vinculación y la implicación del cuerpo del sujeto hablante en éstas.
