Jóvenes e indios en la ciudad

Abstract

Although the matter about ethnic groups has been a traditional topic in mexican anthropology, ethnic youth has not been the main focus in social or anthropological research. Among the reasons for this lack of concern lies the non existence, at least until recently, of an age period that could be recognized, under study by the ethnic society, as differentiated between infancy and adulthood. Here I cover the recent formation and recognition of an age group that can be labeled as youth among the ethnics of displacement in Mexico City. I also ask myself about the contributions that these ethnic juvenile experiences make to the concepts of youth in the contemporary world.

Si bien la temática indígena ha sido un tema recurrente y tradicional en la antropología mexicana, el tema de la  juventud indígena no ha sido central en la investigación antropológica ni social. Entre las razones de este desentendimiento, está la no existencia, sino hasta épocas muy recientes de un periodo etario que pudiera ser reconocido por la sociedad étnica bajo estudio como diferenciado de la infancia y la adultez. Aquí trato sobre la reciente formación y reconocimiento de un grupo de edad que puede ser denominado juventud dentro de las etnias del desplazamiento en la ciudad de México y me pregunto por los aportes que estas experiencias juveniles étnicas hacen a la concepción de juventud en el mundo contemporáneo.
