El contexto social del beber.

Abstract

This document concerned with the social representations about deaths for alcohol consumption and its relationship with morbility data for causes related to this consumption. These representations are part of the social context that occur the illness for those who are in risk of that consumption and who tries to abandon it. At the same time, both are part of illness. The ethnographic data were gotten in the mazahua region in the state of Mexico and mortality statistics from different publications and regional archives.

Este trabajo se ocupa de las representaciones sociales sobre la muerte por consumo de alcohol y su relación con los datos de mortalidad por causas asociadas a la ingesta del mismo. Dichas representaciones son parte del contexto social en el que transcurre el padecimiento de los que están en riesgo por ese consumo y de los que intentan abandonarlo; al mismo tiempo que son parte constitutiva de ese padecer. Los datos etnográficos se obtuvieron en la zona mazahua del Estado de Mexico y las cifras de mortalidad en distintas fuentes publicadas y en archivos regionales.
