Gestión de la información en el contexto de la educación superior en México

Abstract

This writing pointed out several challenges regarding to the contemporary knowledge society, with its main instrument: the information distributed by the web. When universities and institutions of higher education enface that kind of information and its possibilities from it can derived for them new kind of problems, because there can be a confusion between information and knowledge at the bottom of these possibilities. The mere management of information cannot be the definition of the universities’ action, if their activities were reduced to it the mistake could be even more dangerous.

El presente artículo desarrolla algunos de los retos que ha traído consigo el acceso a la información existente en la red de Internet y lo que ello supone. Se abordan principalmente las consecuencias de la presencia actual de una sociedad llamada del conocimiento, si se mantiene la confusión entre conocimiento e información. Por ello, la sola gestión de la información no puede ser tomada como definitoria respecto a la función de educación superior confiada a las universidades. Hacerlo sería cometer un error aún más grave que la confusión teórica entre los términos mencionados.
