La cultura chicana, ¿manifestación cultural, rebelión o protesta?

Abstract

It was during the social and political struggle of the 1960s and 1970s that the Chicano movement emerged. A struggle arose for recognition of an oppressed minority, for civil rights and for acceptance of a new identity. This was the context that gave birth to Chicano Art.

Fue durante la época de los años sesenta y setenta cuando surgió el movimiento chicano, el cual se dio en un periodo de luchas sociales y políticas. Surgió una lucha por el reconocimiento a una minoría oprimida, por la defensa de los derechos civiles y por la aceptación de una nueva identidad. En este contexto surge el Arte Chicano.
