La industria biofarmacéutica en México ante la crisis sanitaria por el SARS-CoV-2: desafíos y reacciones creativas de innovación

Abstract

The objective of the article is to identify the alternatives for technological and industrial development of the Mexican biopharmaceutical, comparing the strategy based on biomanufacturing against the possibility of innovation based on creative reactions. To achieve this objective, we start from the analysis of the innovation circuits, which makes it possible to determine if, given the existing asymmetries, it is possible for the Mexican biopharmaceutical industry to develop creative innovation reactions. This work takes as an example the various projects that have been created within the framework of the health crisis for the generation of a vaccine and other treatments for SARS-CoV-2 in the country.

El objetivo del artículo es identificar las alternativas de desarrollo tecnológico e industrial de la biofarmacéutica mexicana, comparando la estrategia basada en la biomanufactura frente a la posibilidad de innovaciones basadas en reacciones creativas. Para lograr dicho objetivo se parte del análisis de los circuitos de innovación, lo que permite determinar si ante las asimetrías existentes es posible para la industria biofarmacéutica mexicana tener reacciones creativas de innovación. Este trabajo toma como ejemplo diversos proyectos que en el marco de la crisis sanitaria se han creado para la generación de una vacuna y otros tratamientos para el SARS-CoV-2 en el país.
