Aproximación teórica al concepto de violencia

Abstract

This article develops a theoretical approach and a “critical reading” of the concept of violence. It highlights the difficulty for its conceptualization due to the semantic range of the word, which, as the article shows, is huge and ultimately refers to quite dissimilar things. The author focuses on the discussion of this issue in Colombia, using very broad theoretical references that have been present in her research over the past 20 years (1989-2009).

El artículo desarrolla una aproximación teórica y una “lectura crítica” del concepto de violencia y problematiza su dificultad de conceptualización dada la variedad semántica a de la palabra que, como deja ver el artículo, es inmensa y termina por nombrar cosas bastante disímiles. Después de una reflexión general sobre el concepto y sus avatares, se detiene en buena parte de lo que ha sido la discusión sobre el tema en Colombia. Para hacer esta reflexión, la autora se apoya en diferentes y amplios referentes teóricos, que han sostenido su actividad investigativa durante los últimos 20 años (1989-2009).
