Abstract: The present article analyses the national speech created by the post-revolutionary governments, as well as the unifying and homogenizing tendencies that influenced the political, cultural and intellectual environments, to create a stereotype of "The Mexican". This stereotype denied part of the richness inherited from the XIX century, because it defined "people" as a synonymous of "poor" and "humble" of the rural areas, hardly considering the urban workers. Such speech was coined as "revolutionary nationalism" and its expressions reached all political and cultural life manifestations of Mexico, extending it on to the nineteenseventies, slowly evidencing its wear and the limitation of its statements.
