El análisis del espacio local como paradigma metodológico de la periferia metropolitana

Abstract

From a geographical perspective the urban or metropolitan periphery is a space with particular characteristics that in most cases reflects and interacts with general process like urban concentration, comercial concentration and informational, transporting concentrations, and so on, which spatially are developed around a centre. These particular characteristics suggest a need to be explored from theoretical and methodological point of view based on a local spatial scale analisys. This study tries to define that this theoretical-spatial involvement to be developed as a methodology to explore and identify in analitical terms the process that structures and restructures the periphery. Further, based on the results of the examination of the periphery from the local perspective, it is essential to recognize the methological implications that constantly have an active role in the socio-territorial transformation; this will be paramount in establishing and alternative of potencial resolutions, mainly those that have metropolitan implications and, which strongly impact upon the urban expansion.

La periferia metropolitana o urbana, desde el punto de vista de la geografía, es un espacio con características particulares que, en el mayor de los casos, reflejan e interactúan con los procesos generales que espacialmente se desenvuelven desde un centro. Esas características únicas o particulares sugieren ser exploradas de acuerdo con la teoría y metodología de la escala de análisis espacial local. En esencia, esta vinculación teóricaespacial es una metodología que permite explorar e identificar de manera analíticamente rigurosa los procesos que estructuran y reestructuran a la periferia, y a partir de los resultados del examen de la periferia desde lo local se le dé la importancia metodológica que constantemente juega un papel activo en la transformación socioterritorial, con el fin de establecer una alternativa de resolución potencial, sobre todo por las implicaciones metropolitanas que impactan fuertemente como la expansión urbana.
