Abstract:	Urban problems are already analyzed by many disciplines, which contribute with knowlegde for the holistic study of the phenomenon and the improvement of quality of life. This article describes the topics in which this research has been concentrated during the last 50 years, and meditates on the topics that are becoming outstanding in the early stages of this century. La problemática urbana es analizada ya por muchas disciplinas, que aportan conocimiento para el estudio holístico del fenómeno y contribuyen a mejorar la calidad de vida. El presente artículo describe los temas en los que se ha concentrado esta investigación en los últimos 50 años, y reflexiona sobre los temas que están cobrando relevancia a inicios del presente milenio.
