| Abstract: | The article links the economic and political elements of the context in which the triumph ocurred by Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) in México. It also discusses the causes of this electoral victory and the nature of the so called “Fourth Transformation”. Finally, it analyzes the difficulties that the development of a program of gradual change of the inherited institutions and economy has. El artículo enlaza los elementos económicos y políticos del contexto en que ocurrió el triunfo de Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) en México. Asimismo, discute las causas de esta victoria electoral y la naturaleza de la llamada “Cuarta Transformación”. Finalmente, analiza las dificultades que tiene el desarrollo de un programa de cambio paulatino de las instituciones y la economía heredadas. |
