El devenir de los proyectos de presa en el río Verde, Oaxaca, México

Abstract

This text consists of two parts: the first part briefly exposes the role of indigenous peoples and their relationship with water, underlining the importance they have in the headwaters of the basin. On the other hand, the importance of the Verde River for the towns and communities in its area of influence is mentioned. The second part chronologically reconstructs all the dam projects that have been implemented on the río Verde, Oaxaca, pointing out the most general characteristics, which allow us to understand that the possible construction of a dam is not recent, and that the future of these projects on the coast has changed in shape and promoter.

El presente texto se compone de dos partes: la primera expone brevemente el papel de los pueblos indígenas y su relación con el agua, subrayando la importancia que tienen en las cabeceras de cuenca. Por otro lado, se menciona la importancia que tiene el río Verde para los pueblos y comunidades en su área de influencia. En la segunda parte se reconstruyen de manera cronológica los proyectos de presa que se han querido llevar a cabo sobre el río Verde, Oaxaca, señalando las características más generales, que permitan entender que la posible construcción de una presa no es reciente, y que el futuro de dichos proyectos en la Costa ha cambiado de forma y promovente.
