De la Gran Ambición a la emergencia climática

Abstract

The 2015-2019 period, in the climate change context has been progress but also of great uncertainty because the scientific information tells us that the time to make the transformations that guarantee a climate in the margin of 2 ° C or less is running out. The reality is that international climate negotiations had agreed since the Conference of the Parties 21 to have this period of time to build the entire implementation system of the Paris Agreement. In that sense, the so-called climate emergency is a call for attention addressed to national governments so that the temperature rise remains within the limits agreed by the international community and at the same time it has been the channel for new social actors interested in the topic appear.

El periodo 2015-2019, en el contexto de cambio climático ha sido de avances, pero también de gran incertidumbre porque la información científica nos dice que el tiempo para hacer las transformaciones que garanticen un clima en el margen de los 2°C o menos se está agotando. La realidad es que las negociaciones internacionales del clima habían acordado desde la Conferencia de las Partes 21 tener este periodo de tiempo para construir todo el sistema de implementación del Acuerdo de París. En ese sentido, la denominada emergencia climática es un llamado de atención dirigido a los gobiernos para que la elevación de la temperatura se mantenga en los límites acordados por la comunidad internacional y al mismo tiempo ha sido el canal para que surjan nuevos actores sociales interesados en el tema.
