Una memoria espacial de la Ciudad de México

Abstract

From the convergence between space and monuments, this article seeks to confront and produce a spatial memory about the revolutionary memory of Mexico City. West art from the idea of a fiction that inhabits and produces a narrative about space and his relation to the memory and the ways of inhabiting the city. The object of study is bipartite and focuses on the Monument to the Mexican Revolution and the building of the Dirección Federal de Seguridad located in the Roma neigh borhood that functioned as a clandestine prison for many of the revolutionaries of the different dissidents in sixties and seventies in Mexico. Beyond the exploration of the places of memory, we intend to place a reflection on the rewriting of spaces and the impossibility of thinking only of an official State memory on the revolutionary processes in Mexico.

Desde la convergencia entre el espacio y los monumentos, el presente artículo busca confrontar y producir una memoria espacial sobre la memoria revolucionaria de la Ciudad de México. Partimos de la idea sobre una ficción en la que se habita y se produce una narrativa en torno al espacio y en relación con la memoria, así como a las formas de habitar la ciudad. El objeto de estudio es bipartito y se centra en el Monumento a la Revolución Mexicana y el edificio de la Dirección Federal de Seguridad ubicado en la colonia Roma, el cual funcionara como cárcel clandestina para muchos de los revolucionarios de las diferentes disidencias de las décadas de 1960 y 1970 en México. Más allá de la exploración de los lugares de memoria reflexionamos sobre la reescritura de los espacios y la imposibilidad de pensar únicamente en una memoria oficial de Estado sobre los procesos revolucionarios en México.
