Abstract

When we migrate, we discovered new worlds, emotions, and identity notions. A young Nicaraguan woman talks about her path through the southern Mexican border, and with her own words, she takes us from the migrant shelter in Comitan, Chiapas to April 19th with the Nicaraguan Student Movement, as well as to the tojolabales communities. That voice that comes and goes in time and space is the same that dialogues with other people about the Central American context, where the social and political violence determine the forced displacement out of their native populations. Her testimony allows us to observe the importance of meeting other young women to recognize, reflect, and dignify among each other. What can we discover through the exiled women, who take a long way seeking refuge in Mexico?

Al migrar descubrimos mundos, emociones y nociones de identidades en tránsito y encuentro. Una joven nicaragüense narra su paso por la frontera sur de México y desde Comitán, Chiapas, su voz nos lleva a Nicaragua y al Movimiento Estudiantil 19 de Abril, a la estancia migratoria de Comitán, y a las comunidades tojolabales. Esa voz que va y viene en espacios y tiempos, que dialoga con otras voces, hace referencia a realidades de otros contextos centroamericanos en donde la violencia social y política son determinantes para el éxodo y desplazamiento forzoso de sus poblaciones. También nos permite mirar lo relevante de encontrarse con otras jóvenes, indígenas y de otras identidades; reconocerse, espejearse y dignificarse. ¿Qué descubrimos a través de las jóvenes exiliadas que recorren un largo camino para solicitar refugio en México?
