Una Constitución (1917) y algunos licenciados Tarabilla

Abstract

In the first part the present essay brieflay analyzes the tow main ways of understanding and applying the laws (Greek and Roman) inherited by Western civilization, and which in one way or another are preserved in the modern wordl, and the importance they hold for A society faced: pacts, agreements, contracs, constitutions, to obtain social peace. A second part highlights some of the discussions that the constituents of 1917 made in Mexico, highlighting the significance of the event, and de Republican capacity of several of the participants. The discussions, agreements and disagreements therein still represent an important lesson for a nation that, until today, struggles to form itself as a more just and equitable entity capable of overcoming the present misery it faces. It is worth noting that part of the title of the essay is inspired by an instructive political anecdote contained in the debates of the constituent Congress of 1917.

En una primera parte, el presente ensayo analiza someramente las dos formas principales de entender y aplicar las leyes (griega y romana) heredadas por la civilización occidental, y que de una u otra forma se conservan en el mundo moderno, y la importancia que guardan para una sociedad enfrentada: acuerdos, pactos, contratos, constituciones [...] para obtener la paz social. En una segunda parte se ponen de relieve algunas de las discusiones que los constituyentes de 1917 realizaron en México, remarcando la trascendencia del evento, y la capacidad republicana de varios de los participantes. Las discusiones, acuerdos y desacuerdos ahí plasmados representan aún una importante lección para una nación que, hasta hoy, lucha por formarse como una entidad más justa y equilibrada, capaz de superar el aciago presente que enfrenta. No está de más indicar que una parte del título del ensayo se inspira en una instructiva anécdota política contenida en los debates del Congreso Constituyente de 1917.
