Manifestaciones bucales por Covid-19

Abstract

La nueva enfermedad por coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) es llamada así por la Organización Mundial de la Salud ha afectado a todo el mundo causando problemas en la salud de millones de individuos. Hoy en día el sector de la salud ha sido de gran ayuda salvando vidas, es por ello que cada persona de este sector debe estar muy bien informado sobre dicha enfermedad, hasta la fecha hay incógnitas sobre un manejo clínico adecuado, aspectos de los cuales deben ser estudiados. Los odontólogos como primera línea de riesgo, por el contacto que se establece con los fluidos bucales, sangre, entre otros que se encuentran en la cavidad bucal, es por ello que deben estar informados e ir enriqueciendo cada día su conocimiento acerca de las manifestaciones bucales y las características clínicas de cada una de ellas, para así poder detectarlas y en base a ello poder descubrir su agente etiológico y darle un tratamiento oportuno y eficaz; se pretende que con ello en un futuro poder prevenir la enfermedad. Aunque la fuente de información que se tenga de este tema se vea afectado debido a la pandemia, por lo que hasta la fecha no hay suficiente evidencia para ampliar el conocimiento.

Today the health sector has been of great help saving lives, that is why each person in this sector must be very well informed about this disease, to date there are unknowns about proper clinical management, aspects of which must be studied. Dentists as the first line of risk, due to the contact that is established with oral fluids, blood, among others found in the oral cavity, that is why they must be informed and enrich their knowledge about oral manifestations every day and the clinical characteristics of each one of them, in order to detect them and, based on this, to discover their etiological agent and give them a timely and effective treatment; it is intended that with this in the future to be able to prevent the disease. Although the source of information on this topic is affected due to the pandemic, so to date there is not enough evidence to expand the knowledge.
