In this paper, a theoretical review is made of the contributions of the New Classical Economics and the New Keynesian Economics that gave birth to the New Keynesian Model. Likewise, a critical review is made of the optimizing behavior of the central bank presented in the graphic analysis by Carlin and Soskice (2005), in which are present as transmission mechanisms of the monetary policy: the interest rate and the expectations, but as the inexistence of monetary frictions is supposed, therefore the presence of the credit channel in the model is ignored, which is of great relevance due to its capacity to influence the real economy through the channeling of investment. Therefore, the analytical positions of the New Keynesian Economy are reviewed regarding the relevance of the credit channel in the economy, and derived from problems of asymmetric information, resulting in ineffectiveness in the transmission mechanisms of the monetary policy via the interest rate and credit channel. And it is concluded that the NMK does not analyse oligopolistic competition on the credit market.
